Step 1: Complete Attendee Questionnaire
Please take a few minutes to answer the questions provided on the form linked below. This will help me gain a better understanding as to where everyone is in the course creation process and allow me to tailor the content of the workshop accordingly.
Step 2: Make a Copy of the Airtable Template
This is a template I use to organize every course we create and it’s been a game-changer. If you don’t already have a free Airtable account, click on this link and sign up. Once you login you can create a copy of the template by right-clicking on the template and clicking “duplicate base” from the dropdown (see screenshot below). You don’t need to do anything else with this template for the time being. We’ll go over the template in detail and use it throughout the workshop.

Step 2: Start Your Course Brain Dump

Your outline will be the foundation for the entire course creation process so it’s extremely important that the structure of your program is 100% finalized before you move on to creating content. These are the steps I typically follow:

  1. Brain Dump
  2. Rough Draft
  3. Research and Revisions
  4. Final Version

Before we meet, spend some time completing the first step of the process. I usually like to do this with pen and paper or post-it notes but you can use whatever tool works best for you. If you use post-it notes, take a picture of it and save it somewhere that you can refer back to easily.

Here is a short training on the various outlining strategies I use.

Recommended tools:

  1. Pen and Paper (the brain hand connection is powerful when you’re in the creative process!)
  2. Post-it Notes
  3. Mindmeister Mindmapping Tool
  4. Trello
  5. Airtable
